So, new blog post! Because I feel like being weird, and kicking a dead horse. Mostly, it’s late, and I don’t want to go to sleep. So, summer so far… Wow, it’s been busy to a large extent. And new DND games I’m playing… And story work that needs doing… So, yeah, more after the break.
So, health care. I write this watching C-Span, watching the debate live. My thoughts on the debate? Health Care is something I can support from a moral standpoint. I like people being healthy, I like knowing anyone can receive health benefits, regardless of their pre-existing conditions or social/economical position. But, I still have problems with this bill. So, since I decided tonight would be wasted procrastinating, I figured I might as well right a new blog post. Haven’t done that in a while I know, but it gives me some sense of being productive. I figured I could discuss recent life activities, and then some story ideas I have. Can’t remember if the one is one I already posted about, but it is one I have some rough text for somewhere. Anyway, as always, more after the break.
Sorry I didn’t post yesterday. At some point, I will seriously begin to post on a daily basis. Maybe I’ll take Andrew’s pattern, and post quasi-philosophical waxings on the world. Sciencey stuff is finishing up today, so in the near future, I’ll post my work and the end results of what I made. I have a poster and a presentation at the moment, with an abstract currently being processed by two organizations for inclusion in a conference. So, that may be fun if it comes together correctly. Classes I think are shaping up nicely, still need to find out what hours I need to set aside as work. So, once all that’s said and done, I think the semester will go well.
Ok, so I mildly have a good excuse for not posting since July 20th. I’ve actually been seeing results in the computer, and so my time has been spent working on getting those results out to the collaboration. Then there was the presentation, and then there was the poster. But, as of today, I think I’m pretty much done. I have maybe 2.5 more working days (today, tomorrow afternoon, and Friday), then I’m done. It’s a bit of a sobering thought. More after the jump.
So, yes, no post Friday or over the weekend. No one seems to be reading this anyway, so I don’t really know why I care. Anyway, back to the post. This is less about my underlying world view, and more about where I see my self heading. The last year has seen a couple of changes for me, and some of them are still things I’m grappling with. So, anyway, let’s move on to the bulk of this entry, after the jump.
So, yeah, I said I was going to record my world view, and even though there exists a degree of trepidation within my heart to actually do it, I should. So, I figured, begin with that which begins. And, I’m becoming a physicist to a degree, so the origins of existence are something I should think about from time to time. So, yeah, my thoughts on how it all began after the jump.
So, I probably won’t be posting Friday night through Sunday night. I’ll be home, visiting a friend and her out-of town boyfriend. So, I won’t be sitting around much just to post. I also think I want to try doing a series of posts. I think over the next week or so, I’m going to tackle outlining my world view. I’m a little out of things at the moment (I got up late for work this morning, and that’s sort of set the tone for the day), so I won’t start tonight. But, in the long expanses of emptiness tomorrow (otherwise known as work), I’ll start my grand opus of working out my philosophy on life, more to see how much of it I can stand at other points in life, beyond when I wrote it.
On a lighter note, I’ve found that the game Sins of a Solar Empire is moderately entertaining. So, give it a try at some point!
So I feel like a bum for not posting for close to two weeks now. But, code is running, so I have time to post. Let’s see, since last I posted, I lost a hubcap, went on vacation with my family, swung home for ~10 minutes, replaced my hubcap, and bought more books than I really can feasibly read by the end of the summer. For a more detailed recap of how things are going, and what I plan to do in the near future, read past the break.
Ok, so now I feel bad, as I haven’t posted since last Thursday. And I’m headed out of town for a week, and I may or may not be able to post. So, I don’t know, I’ll probably end up posting some stuff over the next week, and I may even be able to get some pictures in here from while I’m with family next week. So, anyway. Work is going well. The simulation is working, and we installed a new cut yesterday, that seems to be working. I hope all is going well with everyone else, and I’ll try to post more tomorrow, as I have the morning off.
