Returned to Chapel, Restored to Glory

The day has finally arrived. Delivered in wooden crates, the 5,500 Reddel Memorial Organ pipes have returned their rightful home. Cleaned and ready to be tuned, these reed and flue pipes will soon fill the Chapel of the Resurrection with their melodious song and resound throughout the nave, whose restoration is near to being finished. Many of the small pipes were sent to Chicago  while the larger pipes remained stationary for the cleaning process. The organ console will be reunited with the rest of its parts, which flank the instrument on either side. An important part of the west gallery, the pipes will be put back into their places, representing the end of one of the three phases of the work that is taking place in the Chapel.
