During the celebration of Midsummer Eve, Miss Julie, the daughter of a count, defiantly crosses the lines of social class by mingling inappropriately with the servants on her father’s estate. The beautiful, aggressive young woman goes to the kitchen where Jean, her father’s charismatic and pompous valet, tempts her into a frightening and viscous war of manipulation and domination with devastating results. Betrayal, defiance, passion and lust collide in what is, perhaps, August Strindberg’s most famous play.
