Introducing Valpo’s First Ever Male Acappella group!!!
VUVOX!
VuVox will be having their first concert this Sunday, April 20th at 7:30 pm in the Duesenberg Recital Hall in the VUCA!!! Doors open at 7:00. There are limited seats available, so get there early!!!
VuVox is made up of gentlemen of all different majors here at Valpo, so you are sure to know someone in the group! They will be singing a variety of songs, including songs by Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Van Morrison!!!

The Core Program will offer a screening and discussion of the one-hour PBS Frontline video _The Undertaking_. It is an insightful documentary made about funeral director and author Thomas Lynch and his sons. In this film, you’ll get behind-the-scenes access to the business and meaning of serving the living by caring for the dead.

The Brauer Museum of Art will host an opening reception and award ceremony for the VU Art Student Exhibition on Wednesday, April 23, at 7 pm. Refreshments will be served, and the event is Core 5th Hour approved.
The exhibition runs from April 23-May 11. Come take a look and support VU student artists!

Spring Break 2009!!!!!!!

Several students will talk about the mission trips they had over Spring Break, in Peru, Haiti, and Nicaragua. They will talk about their experience and what they gained from going on those trips. There will be information provided on how students can partake in mission trips and alternative spring breaks next year. A snack will be provided.

The Cercle français (French Club) cordially invites you to the second annual “Foire au fromages” or cheese tasting event. The event takes place on April 16 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in the Lumina room of Huegli Hall. Come sample a variety of French cheeses, learn about their history, and play a cheese trivia game.
Tickets are $5 in advance (available at the Union front desk or from any French Club officer or French faculty member) or $6 at the door. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to SALT’s EdJakarta campaign.

In commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., The Conversations Project is sponsoring a panel discussion and community conversation:
Forty Years Gone: Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Many Guises of Prejudice.
The event will take place on Thursday, April 3rd, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Christopher Center Community Room. Panelists will start a conversation exploring the history, social dynamics, and impacts of both diversity and prejudice on American society. Audience members are encouraged to share their own knowledge and experience concerning prejudice and how it affects us all.
The panel will consist of four members of the Valparaiso University faculty: Larry Baas (Political Science), Angela Jackson (Psychology), Gregory Jones (Theology), and Lissa Yogan (Sociology and Criminology).
The event is free and open to the public and refreshments will be provided.

A lecture by Maylie Smith, who graduated from Valpo’s law school and specializes in bioethics issues. She will be discussing the currently debated issues of cloning and stem cell research.
