The Philosophy of Change

On Tuesday night, The Philosophy Club will host a discussion to explore recent notions of change as invoked by contemporary leaders such as President-Elect Barack Obama. As our country moves through a time of transition we find ourselves asking philosophical questions like: what criteria must be met for (social or political) change to be good or desirable? Is change inherently good? What is the relationship between hope and change? We’ll explore questions such as these on many levels: ethics, metaphysics, epistemology, political, and social.
