The Crusaders hit the road for week two traveling to St. Joseph’s College in Indiana for a Noon kickoff on Saturday.
Our team came out of the North Dakota game healthy. We physically played along the offensive and defensive lines with North Dakota last Thursday. Their speed was a deciding factor on the three big plays.
We need to shore up our kicking game as we gave up two touchdowns and set up two more on four poor plays. Our staff will fix those issues and we will have better play on special teams this Saturday.
Our offensive line did a good job run blocking last Thursday night. Both Jake Hutson and Brandon Hall averaged over 4 yards a carry. The offensive line gave up one sack. Their play was some of the best we’ve had since I’ve been here.
We had some individual players perform well during the prep and playing of the North Dakota game.

We played St. Joe tough last year but lost in the fourth quarter. They have talent on offense with QB Billy VandeMerkt, WR Julian Walker, and RB’s Kobi Cook and Braxton Shelton. There defense is athletic and runs very well. We must do a good job on focusing on the execution of our responsibilities for four quarters on Saturday.
We have a lot of football to play in 2013. I like the attitude of our team. Come out and support he Crusaders if you are in the area.
