Midwest food are considered to be simple and hearty. Milk, cheese, and eggs, are common ingredients in Midwest cooking. Main dishes often include roasts, stews, and dishes made from trout and whitefish. Rice is often used in many side dishes and desserts which is good and easy for someone from eastern countries like me to accept . Besides,Wheat bread and cornbread typically accompany meals. We consider that's western food but many of us enjoy it very much. Seasoning with spices is generally mild, and fresh herbs such as dill, parsley, and sage may be used to flavor a dish--- we usually do not have that in our meal recipe but it doesn't hurt to give a shot :D
