This video packs a lot of insight in 20 minutes. I’ve always seen China as a mysterious land with a government that keeps American businesses out who won’t play by their censorship rules (Google). But from this video, it makes so much more sense that they are not as concerned about censorship and spying as they are protecting their own local economy. In addition, from Anti’s perspective, as China grows more connected via social media, it helps both the Chinese people and the Chinese government in controlling corrupt local governments.
It’s really amazing how we are becoming more and more connected and similar thanks to technology. Thanks to channels of communication like this, it becomes more and more apparent that the idea that a country like China is just dreaming of the day they can be as free as us is simply shallow and wrong.
