It’s hard to believe how quickly my time here at the Guild has gone by. I am so grateful for the opportunity to meet so many amazing people and get to practice my skills I am learning in the classroom. The Guild has given me the assurance that I am doing the right thing in my career. I loved being able to plan their events, write for the Bulletin, and interact with the people here in my office. This by far been the best internship I have had yet and I am very thankful for the wonderful advice, ideas, and skills I have received from my mentors here.

After winter break, I will be coming back to finish up my last semester here at Valpo. If I had the choice, I would be as student here forever. This university has given me the best friends and times of my life. I will always be a proud Alumni of the University and want to continue to be a part of the community here.

After graduation, I hope to find a job working in either a sports agency doing their communications or in a Chicago Public Relations Agency. I know the skills I have learned here at the Guild will give me a great leg up on the other competition when trying to find a job!

I want to say thank you to the entire Guild staff for being such wonderful mentors and friends to me during my time here. It has truly been an amazing experience that I will never forget.

Guild Members!

What a busy month it has been! I have been traveling and out of the office for a few weeks and am finally able to put out my next post!

We have been very busy in the office getting ready for Gulid Week which is November 5-9. Guild Week is a way for the Guild to show our presence to students that are currently on campus. We will be in the Chapel View Lounge every day that week giving out highlighters, cake, healthy living packets and post-it notes to students. I have been busy getting all these things together and I can’t wait to kick off Guild Week!

Last week, I traveled to San Francisco, CA for a PR Conference! I learned so much and was able to explore the downtown area of the city. Then it was Fall Break where I was able to catch up on my homework and get some relaxation time in! This weekend is Family Weekend and I am very excited to see my family. I will be cheering at the football game and the very first Men’s Basketball home game as well! I can’t wait for the basketball season to start and really hope they do well this season!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Happy Homecoming Guild Members!

Homecoming is one of my favorite times of the year and it is even better this year being able to see everything that happens within the Guild office to get ready. I have been working all morning getting ready for the Annual Meeting today and I’m sure it will be a great.

This past week I have been finalizing everything for the Annual Meeting, we received the banner and table runner I had been working on (they look great!), and drafted the letters for our Grant Recipients for this year.

Next week I am sure we will all be sad but happy homecoming week is over and that we can look forward to Guild Week in November. I will only be in the office Monday as I will be heading to San Francisco, California for a 5 day Public Relations Conference. I am so excited to bring back what I learn to the Guild office!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Homecoming Weekend and hope to see many of you later today at the Annual Meeting!

Don’t forget to register for the Annual Meeting on October 5th. It will be at 2:45 in the Brown and Gold Room of the Harre Union.

Hey Guild Members!

Is everyone excited for Homecoming Weekend? This is one of my favorite times of the year on campus. It is so exciting to see the Valparaiso University community come together and celebrate their alumni. I sure hope I see many of you here that weekend! I will be on the sideline with the cheerleading team at the Football game on Saturday. Don’t be afraid to say hi. I will be the one on top!

In the office we are getting ready for lots this week! The Annual Meeting and Reception is this weekend on October 5th so we have been doing lots to get ready for that. I’m also still starting Guild Week preparations and so far, so good! Hopefully this week we will make some huge strides on the Guild Bulletin and get that out to everyone as soon as we can. Make sure you’re looking out for it.

This week I am doing lots of exciting things. Today I am doing a video interview with a member of the Men’s Basketball Team, I am hosting an Administrative Dinner for Student Senate tonight, and then lots of exciting Homecoming events all weekend!

Hope to see many of you this weekend!

Liz
