Andrea LaMontagne is a Valparaiso University School of Law student and is involved in the school’s dual degree MA Psychology program. Andrea is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, where she double-majored in Political Science and History. She is a past intern of the Valparaiso Police Department, and is currently a law clerk for the Lake County Public Defender’s Appellate office. Andrea is a licensed 2.1 intern with the law school’s Post-Conviction Relief Clinic, and has worked in the United Kingdom with the Cambridge University’s Psychology Department to research law enforcement professionals there. Andrea has ambitions to work as a Public Defender in the future.

Sam Henderson is a registered patent agent and professional translator from Korean, French, German, Danish, Portuguese and Dutch into English. He is a proud Shimer College graduate, and also holds a master’s degree in applied linguistics.  He served from 2014 to 2015 as a legal research associate with the Hoosier Environmental Council.

Prior to law school, he was a partner in an entrepreneurial venture and worked for the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in New York City. I became interested in the Valpo Law Blog because I have a background in journalism and I have always enjoyed writing. I have a B.A. in Journalism and a B.A. in Classical Studies from Indiana University Bloomington. I have written several pieces at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I am not sure what area I am most interested in practicing in, but I am considering government work. I am passionate about women’s rights and gender equality.
