Sonja Streuber, MA MA PMP® SSBB, joined Valparaiso University in 2011, after a 12-year career in the aerospace/defense and telecommunication industries as an expert in project management and high performing systems. An experienced network, software, and systems engineer, she worked with Lockheed Martin and ITT Exelis to modernize and maintain our nation’s Eastern and Western Spacelift Ranges. Streuber began her career with Objective Systems Integrators (later Agilent Technologies) training customers worldwide to build advanced telecommunications network fault and configuration management systems—an activity continued at Lockheed Martin’s RSAIIA program with additional focus on technical and program risk management, including Information Assurance.  She continued her career as a project manager handling critical and major projects in Information Technology and Capital Investment with NiSource, Northwest Indiana’s premier energy company, with Northern Trust Bank in Chicago, and most recently built the Project Management Office and the Healthcare Division of a local IT consulting agency.  A sought-after Subject Matter Expert in Project, Process and Risk Management, her work earned her Lockheed Martin’s 2006 International Best Practice award as well as a number of other professionally recognized awards.  Ms. Streuber holds Masters Degrees in English (UC Davis, ABD level) and Systems Engineering (George Washington University), and the coveted Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Six Sigma Blackbelt Certifications.  Having worked in government, non-profit, and for profit sectors, Streuber brings broad industry experience to her courses in the Computing and Information Sciences Department and the HADM Program, including Data Mining, Information Management, Operating Systems and Security, and Project Management.
