Welcome to Sonja Streuber’s Faculty Page!

I am a Lecturer in Computing and Information Sciences and Data Science at Valparaiso University in Northwest Indiana.

My professional and academic interests lie in Cybersecurity, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, Project Management, and Process Optimization.  Besides holding an MS in Systems Engineering from George Washington University, an MA (ABD) in English from the University of California, Davis, and an LMA in English and Music from Johannes-Gutenberg-Universitaet, Mainz, I am a certified and practicing Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Six Sigma Blackbelt.  Since 2000, I have led projects in the telecommunications, aerospace & defense, energy, healthcare, and banking industries, in disciplines ranging from network design, software development, and data warehousing to heavy construction.

I have most recently managed high-visibility process and data management projects for Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) in the healthcare cybersecurity industry; these ranged from organizational transformation and optimization (including offshoring) to solidifying the data integrity of the solutions we deliver to Fortune 500 clients. Thus, in my teaching, I incorporate my “real-life” experience into the classroom in order to provide students with a truly applied, hands-on learning experience.
