Violence in America

We are posting on this issue because of the important concerns that are being felt in the African American community about the escalation of gun violence around this nation.

The African American communities in the inner city are impacted by gun violence each and every day. we know more than most the terror and pain of a child loss to this violence and we understand the importance of peacemaking as a priority in every community in this country.

We cannot continue to act as if the sell of guns and weapons in this nation will not hurt our communities. We know that unless there is a serious movement to stop the use of violence in our communities then suffering will indeed continue.

As African Americans we stand for the end of violence through our nation and around the world .

We must act as peacemakers!

If not us then who? If not now then when?

African Americans must unite !

Change can happen only if African Americans in this country

unite and serve our own interest! If we do not work together to address the ongoing issues that are troubling our community

then we cannot expect others to work on these problems.

The impact of urbanization reflects the generations of struggles

that have confronted the African American community.

Here is a list of ten important issues that effect the quality of

life in the African American community.

1. Affordable housing 2. Jobs/work/ 3. Affordable

health care.

4. Crime 5. lack of access to  education/information

6. political disenfranchisement 7. economic exploitation

 8. drugs/addiction

9. lack of local African American cultural institutions

10.  lack of local arts/ publishing and literary

institutions in the community.

There is no stable middle class African American

community until we address these issues.

We cannot be free until we are all free!

We are our only hope!

Black Political Action committees

The evolution of the African American political experience has introduced the African American Political Action Committee.

These are groups of African Americans that have developed

political and financial power to address and control issues within

our own communities as well as influence national politics.

The world will have to pay attention to these groups because they

are raising millions of dollars for candidates on both the local as

well as the national  political stage.

Look at the amount of financial resources developed by these new power brokers within the African American community!

The black Political Action committees are here to stay!!

Celebrate this new evolution in black Political power and participation!

Learning Peace through cultural exchanges.

In response to the ever increasing violence of these times we post a special message to our cognitive portal participants.

Perhaps we might learn from the African American community as well as our global residents regarding the importance of spiritual location.

We need to evidence a process of cognitive development that disavows violence as a option of use within the body politic.

There are many thinkers within the African American community

that suggest that violence and western culture are linked.

We offer the Africentric point of view as an possible remedy to the lack of spiritual conciousness and forditude to reject the use of violence in western culture!

We need to create a cultural determined identity that is non violent and human.

The African American community is the solution to this cultural problematic!

We are uniquely  gifted at understanding and desiring PEACE!

In 1943, she became Connecticut’s first African American policewoman when she joined the Hartford Police Department.

The Rochester Police Department recently added another tool to its arsenal to help engage the Rochester community when RPD Chief James Sheppard announced the creation of the Rochester Police Foundation, an independent, nonprofit, charitable organization dedicated to fostering public safety, excellence in law enforcement, and a positive relationship between RPD and the community it serves.

Violence in America is front page news!

We must consider the impact of the deaths of young African American children in America!

This society will never stop this senseless killing of young people until we think about how easy it is to obtain weapons in this culture and use them on  the weak and innocent.

We are disgusted and sadden at the tragic death of yet another bright star of our community.

Please visit our blog listed in links on violence and religious tradition  in American society for a update on the tragic yet common consequences involving the use of violence in our culture.

world conflict and the Kony mentality

We must consider the issue of Africa and the conflicts that remain  a part of the landscape of our beloved Continent.

Conflicts between nations in Africa are being supported by developing  and developed nations throughout the global community.

A better question is ; What nations in the global community are sponsoring the creation of a Kony mentality all throughout Africa?

http://www.jpanafrican.com/docs/vol2no9/2.9_The_United_States_Africa_Command.pdf

There are thousands of Konys. The question is “when will we stop creating them”!
